About Gail
I retired as Superintendent/Principal of Bonny Doon Elementary School District in 2009, following a 42-year career in public education. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education from Hunter College, Bronx, NY, and a Master of Science in Health Education from Lehman College, Bronx, NY. I have served as a SLVUSD Trustee for District 4 for the past six years.
I am passionate and work tirelessly to provide safe schools for all students. I serve on the Santa Cruz County Safe Schools Project, working toward achieving this goal and I strongly believe in public schools and how important they are for our community.
With my 42-year knowledge of education and the extended relationships with families in SLV, I know that I can continue to be an asset to the District as a member of the Board of Trustees.
I plan to work tirelessly for SLV families toward continuous improvement of the quality of education given to our students.
I am proud to have received the Casey Coonerty Woman of Valor award in 2019 for my commitment to my community at large including Temple Beth El, our public schools, The Diversity Center, and Casa.
I have lived in Felton for 25 years with my life partner, Emily, and our dog Cocoa. We all enjoy frequent walks in Henry Cowell State Park. My daughter and grandsons live in New York.
