What does the School Board Do?
What does the School Board Do?
Chooses and approves new curriculum, including all academic subject areas and sex ed.
Approves continuing education for teachers, which could include subjects such as equity and anti-racism education, how to better meet the needs of special education students, or distance learning strategies, among so many others
Approves the district budget
Negotiates pay and benefits with the teacher’s union and classified staff union
Interviews and hires the Superintendent
